OpenMove is an open source multimodal trip planner for transit routes. It enables the user to find the best itineraries in public transport by combining multiple means of transportation such as bus, train, bicicle or walking.

OpenMove is based on OpenTripPlanner, the leading open source multimodal planner.

This project has been developed by Biomimetics, Deustotech and several Esle (Basque association of open source companies) members such as Fidenet Comunicación, Solid Rock IT and Zylk.

A limitation of centralized planners currently available in the market is that the scope of route searches is limited geographically to a region or a metropolitan area.

OpenMove eliminates this limitation by establishing several collaboration mechanisms between several multimodal planners. By doing so, it is possible to find a transit route between regions covered by different planners.
